Resubelpara Profile & Tourism
The town of Resubelpara which is popularly known as Resu is located in the East Garo Hills district of the state of Meghalaya. It is the sub divisional headquarters of this district. The town is located by the side of the Damring River.
According to the 2001 census, Resubelpara had a population of 17,652. The average literacy rate is 68% and the population percentage of males to females is 51% to 49%. The town is mainly inhabited by the Garos and Rabhas. Millennium festival celebrated in the month of December is one of the important festivals here. The festival includes a host of competitions in diverse fields. Wangala festival is another important harvesting festival of the Garos. This festival goes on for two to three days where people of different villages gather and celebrate.There are many schools and colleges in this town for primary and secondary education.
